Clients needing assistance with employment issues will be scheduled into counselling sessions that will address the identified need(s) of the client. 

Continued support and follow up is provided to every client working through the following interventions. 

Needs Assessment:

All clients wishing to access EAS Assisted Services are required to participate in a Needs Assessment Interview.  This session involves gathering information on the client’s employment situation and identifying the employment need(s) in order to guide or refer the client appropriately. 

EMPLOYMENT COUNSELLING:

Qualified employment counsellors are available to provide support and guidance through any of the four employability dimensions. 

Job Search Strategies

Need help in looking for a job?  Don’t know how to start or where to look? Let our qualified staff provide you with the latest job search techniques.

Sessions are designed to assist the client in becoming self-sufficient and provides the necessary skills to be competent in the following areas;  

  • successful Job Search Techniques 
  • information on Internet Job Search methods
  • resume & cover letter creation
  • identifies personal & transferable skills
  • teaches Self-Marketing & Networking skills
  • Interview preparation

Employment Maintenance

Having difficulties in keeping your job once you get it?  Get assistance from our trained staff in identifying the barriers to successfully maintaining employment. 

Career Decision Making

These sessions includes activities such as:

  • selection of a potential occupation(s)
  • setting criteria for alternative choices in occupations
  • establishing priorities and / or preferences in terms of career choice
  • researching and exploration of different careers

The session also involves helping clients identify their strengths and areas with need for improvement by surveying their skills, interests, values and personality preferences in order to achieve employment satisfaction.

Skill Enhancement

If skill enhancement (training or re-training) is identified, clients will receive a referral to Skill Development Employment Benefit Program.
