Lakes District Employment and Career Services

Owned and operated by Kelly Turford, Lakes District Employment and Career Services has been in operation since 2002 and provides EAS Assisted and Self-Assisted Employment services to Burns Lake & surrounding areas. Our agency is located in the Lakeview Mall and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Our agency provides employment related services and programs to the unemployed and under-employed. This includes those of various cultural backgrounds, persons with disabilities and those with multiple barriers to employment.

Through the EAS program clients can access needs assessments, employment counselling, case management and a variety of group sessions and workshops.

Our current space is 2500 square feet and includes a large self-assisted resource center, a roomy reception area and a computer lab for client use in job search, career research etc. Both local and regional job boards are located in this area as well with an area where clients can sit, review available employment opportunities or peruse the many newspapers available. Local service provider information and a full range of brochures promoting other Government programs and services can be found in the reception area for client convenience.
